In the Woodlands, Texas, a local 5K charity run decided that the event simply must go on, despite the whirlwind of change brought on by COVID-19. With safety in mind, the event is being held virtually. Health and wellness charity supporter, Dr. Paul Drago shares the story:

Ready, set… go!  This year, the Woodforest National Bank’s Woodforest 5K Charity Run looks a little different.  Rather than being held on site at Heritage Park in Conroe, Texas, the event calls all to participate virtually.  This change, of course, has been brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to prevent large crowds from gathering.  The run is the 11th annual installment of the Woodforest 5K and also seeks to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodforest National Bank.  This year, the event will take place from September 19th to 30th.

Participants must pay a $25 registration fee in order to run in this year’s Virtual 5K.  All proceeds will directly benefit the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.  The $25 registration fee includes participation in the event as well as a custom dri-fit t-shirt which commemorates this unique 5K.  Dr. Paul Drago salutes this health and wellness charity for their ‘the show must go on’ mentality and spirit of kindness and community!
